To 100 ml of sample in 250 ml conical flask, add 10 ml of dilute sulfuric acid and 0.1 ml of 0.02M potassium permanganate and boil for 5 minutes. The solution remains faintly pink.
Dissolve and dilute 0.163 g of potassium nitrate to 100ml with water. Dilute 1 volume of above solution to 10 volumes with water (100 ppm NO3). Dilute 1 Volume of nitrate standard solution (100 ppm NO3) to 50 Volumes with water.
Dissolve 7.022 g of ferrous ammonium
sulphate in water containing 25 ml of 1M sulphuric acid and add sufficient water to produce 1000 ml. Dilute 1
volume to 100 volumes with water.
Dissolve 0.33 g of arsenic trioxide
in 5 ml of 2M sodium hydroxide and dilute to 250.0ml with water. Dilute 1 Volume of this solution
to 100 volumes with water.
Dilute 10.0 ml of a 0.0741% w/v solution of
ammonium chloride to 25.0 ml with ammonia-free water.
Dilute 1 Volume of the resulting solution to 100 volumes with ammonia-free
water, immediately before use.
